DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

Teach college-level courses in Radiologic Technology including, but not limited to, clinical internship management, patient care, introduction to radiologic technology, radiographic position and special procedures.

Maintain surveillance of each education center regarding its validity as a part of the training consortium (i.e. number of students, rotational scheduling, patient exam load, etc.).

Participate in the program accreditation process.

Maintain communication with Program Director and affiliated hospital personnel.

Manage the student Radiology Club and pinning ceremony.

Participate in curriculum development and serve on department, division, college and district committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participate in appropriate professional development activities.

Participate in the formulation of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the Student Learning Outcomes assessment cycle.

Maintain formal office and campus hours; participate in department and division meetings.
Maintain current knowledge of instructional methods and new technologies pertinent to areas of assignment; learn and apply emerging technologies and advances (e.g., computer software applications) as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized and timely manner.

Teach scheduled classes and perform related duties as assigned, including timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities; comply with district, college and division policies in the performance of duties.

Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.

Work cooperatively with staff and students.

Evening and/or Saturday assignments may be required as part of the regular contract.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s AND two (2) years of professional experience as a radiographer.

Possess current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) credential.

Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be from accredited postsecondary institutions (see www.nocccd.edu/Employment regarding accredited postsecondary institutions).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree.

Experience as a clinical coordinator in an accredited radiography program.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an instructor in an accredited radiography program.

Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation and academic advising.

Possess American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) credential and experience.

Possess a valid unlimited Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license from the California Department of Public Health.

Possess a valid California Fluoroscopy Permit (CFP) from the California Department of Public Health.

Experience using technology in education/
radiography.

Demonstrated leadership experience and/or participation in community or professional organizations.

Experience working in a team teaching environment.

SALARY
The initial salary placement range is $56,764- $85,940 depending on applicable education and experience. Initial salary placement will be determined by the District Office of Human Resources in accordance with the faculty collective bargaining agreement and is not negotiable.

BENEFITS
The District is a participating agency in the CalPERS Hospital and Medical Care plan which allows eligible employees to select from several plans for their hospital and medical care. The District pays the full cost of the employee-only health insurance premium for the plan selected by the employee. In addition, the District provides a discretionary fringe benefit allowance that may be allocated toward the premium cost of eligible dependent health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, accident insurance, income protection insurance, and available investment options.

PET/CT Job Description:

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:
Perform PET/CT examination of patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares and administers dosages of radio-pharmaceuticals to patients in preparation for diagnostic procedure under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.

2. Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and the protocols of the radiologists.

3. Performs radiation safety and quality control procedures including disposal of radioactive materials and monitoring work area and patient areas to ensure radiation levels are in accordance to regulations.

4. Maintains patient care, comfort and safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.

5. Maintains proper documentation of radioactive materials.

6.Maintains technical competency through continuing education.

7.Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.

8. Maintains a clean work environment.

9. Completes necessary administrative tasks.

10. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.

11 Complies with the Company policies/procedures.

12. Performs additional duties as required.

13. Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.

14. Measures, and records radiopharmaceutical dosages received, used, and disposed of using computer software and following physician’s prescription.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited 2 or 4 year Nuclear Medicine program and hold an active CNMT or ARRT(N) license.

High School graduate or equivalent.

Special Skills and Requirements:

1. Must be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board with 1 year PET/CT experience.

2. Must be able to perform injection procedures.

3. Must be able to produce very high quality special imaging with little supervision.

4. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Healthcare experience or knowledge desired. Must be self-initiated team player with strong organizational and analytical skills. Must be capable of prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Intermediate/advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills required. Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends when required to manage project load. Occasional overnight travel required. Must be available for taking call on regular basis.

Job Description

The Medical Services Support in Iraq (MSSI) Program Manager establishes a clinically safe and professionally managed healthcare environment and provides primary health care as well as resuscitative surgical care in accordance with U.S. or equivalent medical standards on a 24-hour basis, 365 days of the year to Chief of Mission (COM) personnel U.S. Embassy Baghdad, serving a population of approximately 14,000 adults.

SCOPE:

The Medical Technologist reports to and will be clinically supervised by the site medical director and work under the direction of other primary medical provider (Radiologist, Physicians, Surgeons, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants).The Medical Technologist will be assigned to treat patients in one of two settings: (1) Small medical/trauma hospitals, (2) Large medical/trauma hospital and assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.In these settings, Medical Technologist performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologicaltests.Examines and analyzes body fluids and cells and matches blood for transfusions.In addition to performing their technical function, medical technicians keep patient records and adjust and maintain equipment. They also may prepare work schedules, evaluate purchases of equipment, or manage a medical technical department.All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have completed a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a diploma, certificate or a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be eligible or certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • Must have and maintain current certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • A minimum of two years experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
  • All healthcare providers must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 6 of the last 12 months in desired career field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
  • Examines and analyzes body fluids and cells and matches blood for transfusions.
  • Must be familiar with the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) requirements for maintaining blood products for transfusion.
  • Analyzes chemical content of fluids and tests for drug levels in the blood.
  • Prepares specimens, counts cells, and looks for abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.
  • Analyzes test results and relays them to physicians.
  • Makes cultures of body fluid and tissue samples, to determine the presence of bacteria, fungi, parasites, or other microorganisms.
  • Analyzes samples for chemical content or a chemical reaction and determines concentrations of compounds such as blood glucose and cholesterol levels.
  • Evaluates test results, develops and modifies procedures, and establishes and monitors programs, to ensure the accuracy of tests.
  • Uses universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.
  • Orders and stocks supplies as needed and maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • In addition to preparing patients and operating equipment, radiologic technologists and technicians keep patient records and adjust and maintain equipment. They also may prepare work schedules, evaluate purchases of equipment, or manage a radiology department.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Will require a favorably adjudicated Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) investigation conducted by the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security;
  • All Medical Technologists will sign a CHS MSSI Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
  • The normal workweek is established by the DoS Chief of Mission.

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:
Perform PET/CT examination of patients of all ages for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.
