MANAGER MRI/CT SCAN

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • DAILY OPERATION -- Responsible for the operation of the MRI and CT sections on a twenty-four hour basis. Applicant should have extensive MRI background. Act as liaison to Referring Physicians and schedulers. Monitors the performance, completion, and accuracy of all proficiency tests. Maintains current and acceptable procedure manuals. Working with the staff, researches, evaluates and recommends new procedures, instrumentation and technologies . Maintain optimal scanning protocols in CT/ MRI. Provides Quality Assurance and other reports as required.
  1. PLANNING ACTIVITIES -- Assists in the implementation of hospital policies and programs as needed.
  2. SCHEDULING -- Prepares master schedules for all areas and verifies coverage for all areas. Handles vacation requests and all scheduling issues.
  3. PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT -- Sets goals with personnel. Conducts performance appraisals for staff. Responsible for hiring, counseling, interviewing and disciplinary actions involving employees. Arranges for orientation and training of personnel.
  4. ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS -- Keeps all employees informed of organization and departmental policies. Attends departmental and hospital meetings and participates on committees as requested. Applicant should have experience with ACR, Joint Commission and CT state inspections and accreditations.
  5. PATIENT CARE RESPONSIBILITIES -- To supervise and coordinate care of MRI and CT patients. Performs MRI and CT examinations as ordered by a physician following the established policies of the Department. Able to provide appropriate care for patients served, regardless of age.
  6. MATERIALS MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS -- Collaborates directly with Materials Management and vendors as it relates to supplies and equipment as needed.
  7. TECHNICAL FUNCTION -- Maintains proficiency in all procedures within the section(s). Resolves technical and equipment problems as needed and supporting radiologist imaging needs.
  8. PERSONAL CAREER GROWTH -- Attends training classes and educational programs to keep current in technical and management developments of the field. Demonstrates this knowledge by contributing to improved MRI/CT services.
  9. QUALITY ATTRIBUTES -- Motivates staff to perform at their optimum capacity, actively promotes teamwork, fiscal responsibility, accountability, patient focused care.

EDUCATION

As Allied Technology or Life Science or equivalent Associates Degree preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE

Technical experience: 5 years experience in MRI required / CT experience preferred

Management experience: 3 years of leadership experience

SPECIAL SKILLS

Working in a normal clinical Radiology environment, handling test, utilizing a computer terminal. Intense

concentration with instruments or procedures. Works under stressful conditions, interpersonal and computer skills required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

ARRT and CT State License. MRI CERTIFICAITON REQUIRED / CT CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with Radiologists on groundbreaking imaging techniques and work with the latest technology available in CT imaging. In this role, the seasoned professional we seek will be responsible for managing the technical staff in an active clinical and research environment at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Our advanced CT Department utilizes 8 scanners and includes 28 front line CT Technologists that work in our outpatient facility, the Mitchell Hospital Pavilion, the Center for Care and Discovery and Comer Children's Hospital. Candidates must be ARRT (CT) registered and have worked as a CT Technologist for at least 3 years with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in CT.

A bachelor's degree is required. A high level of understanding of technical CT operations, superior problem solving and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop a team of committed imaging professionals is required.

Position Summary

Radiology Partners is seeking an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant who will assist the attending Interventional Radiologists in the management of IR patients for both the hospital and practice. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with Radiology Partners goals.


Position Duties and Responsibilities

Perform or assist with the following procedures central IV access, tunneled/non-tunneled, port insertion/removal and management, conscious sedation, abscess drains, paracentesis/thoracentesis, implanted drainage catheter placement, upper and lower GI studies deep and superficial biopsy w CT/US guidance

Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults and inpatient rounding

Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries.

Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies

Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes,

Perform history and physical examinations of Interventional Radiology patients

Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients.

Educate patients on their medical care

Minimum Qualifications Required

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist provides services to the VA San Diego Healthcare System.

Responsibilities:

Independently operates radiographic equipment to perform a variety of complex diagnostic exams.

Receives patients, explains method of procedures, positions patients, selects and sets up technical factors, sets up and adjusts accessory equipment, and makes and develops exposures.

CT Technologist performs CT imaging of head, neck, spine, chest, extremities, vascular system and body.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiology Technologist program.

ARRT certified.

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technician provides services to the VA San Diego Healthcare System.

Responsibilities:

Operate a super conductive MRI machine, which is a highly complex computerized imaging device that employs the use of strong magnetic fields and radio waves to acquire images of the entire body, including the brain, neck, spine, chest, body and extremities.

Sets up radiographic suites and assures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters and other required equipment/supplies are present and available.

Prepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of Radiologists, intravenously but not independently. As required by procedure or patient’s condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate) and reports any significant changes to a radiologist.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiology Technologist program.

ARRT certified.

Preferred: possess of a Fluoroscopy Permit.

Current California Radiology Technologist (CRT) license.

Current BLS certificate.

Minimum 2 years’ of verifiable work experience as a MRI and able to work with minimal Supervision.

Must have the ability to hear and observe all the surroundings of the department and have manual dexterity. Assisting in moving/lifting of patient with physical problems.

CT Tech / CT Technologist

A CT Technologist position is opening within our independent Cardiac clinic in McKinney, Texas. Our CT Department features a Seimens 64-slice CT and Tera Recon Classic. We are looking for a confident and compassionate professional who is reliable, flexible, self motivated and has a positive attitude. Applicant must be proficient with CTA Cardiacs as well as 3D reconstructions. Some responsibilities include:

  • Performing CT and CTA scans according to protocols
  • Managing CT schedule workflow
  • Effectively producing high quality images for interpretations
  • Producing reports according to MD's interpretation
  • Working with the front office to maximize schedules
  • Make reminder calls to patients to provide prep instructions
  • Explain and prepare each patient for CT exams including performing BMPs and IVs
  • Be able to recognize emergent patient conditions and act on them accordingly
  • Must be familiar with sterile fields
  • Must have proficient venipuncture skills and be able to prepare and administer contrast materials
  • Take all required safety measures to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff
  • Monitor equipment performance and take appropriate actions to arrange service or repairs
  • Interface with IT personnel as needed
  • Order all supplies for CT department
  • Update all related licenses according to state regulations
  • Assist with ACR Re-Accreditation
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required to ensure operation of the department within the scope of practice

Minimum Requirements ARRT required State Registration Advanced Certification and at least 1-2 years in CT, BLS Certified, Hours are from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm - no nights/no weekends.

Assists Manager of Operations (MO) in coordinating daily operations to maximize quality of patient care, imaging quality, ensuring proper equipment performance, guaranteeing safe and clean equipment and controlling the cost of providing service. Schedules TM work assignments. Assists MO with team member evaluations and education. Will oversee multi-modalities, regardless of individual licensure.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Serves as primary interface with team members for day to day operations.
  2. Serves as the primary interface with customers for day to day operations.
  3. Assists MO with team member performance management and evaluations.
  4. Administrative responsibilities related to payroll, team member work schedules, compliance, quality and patient satisfaction.
  5. Perform scanning and marketing functions as needed.

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree (A.A.) in Medical diagnostics preferred

Minimum 4 years technologist experience. 2+ years as a lead tech is preferred.

CPR certification required. As applicable, valid state driver's license.

ARRT. Advanced Registry required (any modality).

Position Summary:

Under the general guidance of the radiologists and cardiologists, in coordination with the Radiology Director and Cardiovascular Clinical Leader, the Imaging Specialist - Invasive Procedures provides quality diagnostic imaging services with a patient focused approach. The technologist will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field(s) performing at a level of competence that allows independent thought and action, applies critical thinking to managing patients, assuring appropriate care based on patient needs using age specific assessment, communications, and knowledge of physical and mental capabilities.

Education:

Graduate of an approved school in radiography with advanced training in cardiovascular imaging. Registered through national certifying body and state licensed in radiography. CIT registry preferred. Other experience and education may be considered.

Experience:

Minimum of two years as staff RT.

Qualifications:

• Registered in Diagnostic Radiology with additional registration as CIT tech preferred.

• CPR certified

• Flexible, willing to work in non-primary area as need arises.

• Willing to perform non-traditional functions, remaining within general scope of practice.
