The incumbent in this position performs neuro and vascular interventional examinations in accordance with established protocols, as directed by the attending radiologist. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Required Education/Training:

  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Associate of Science in Radiologic Science required; Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists RT (R).
  • CPR certification also required.
  • Certification in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiac-Interventional (CI) or Cardiovascular (CV) certification preferred.


Required Experience:

  • A minimum of six months hands-on training is required.
  • Clinical experience required.
  • Current experience in Interventional Angiography preferred.
  • Must be familiar with and able to perform and/or learn the technical operations during such procedures as angiograms, angioplasties, embolizations, dilations, biopsies, fibrinolysis, venograms and myelograms.
  • Ability to work under stressful and emergent situations.

The University of Findlay invites applications for a full-time 12 month faculty appointment to begin January 2014 in the Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) and Positron Emission Tomography / Computed Tomography Technology (PET/CT) Programs to aid in the administration, instruction, coordination, documentation and supervision of students in our dynamic NMT and PET/CT programs. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.

The applicant should have a master’s degree (doctorate ideal), must be certified as a nuclear medicine technologist with appropriate licensure and certification, and have relevant clinical experience. Experience in Computed Tomography and x-ray procedures, supervising/teaching, and scholarship are preferred. The ideal candidate will be an individual with a passion for the profession and a vision for professional education, experience with accreditation, and a record of professional activity. Strong communication skills and a desire to work with students in a setting that prides itself on providing close relationships between students and faculty are expected. Responsibilities

This is the master-level position for a Radiological Technologist. The Radiological Technologist IV is primarily responsible for daily department operations, helps to plan and initiate projects, and leads staff employee teams in quality improvement. The CT Tech IV will be responsible for developing and reviewing CT Policies and Protocols. Secondarily, this position performs Radiology examinations on patients under the general supervision of the Chief of Radiology. The CT Radiological Technologist IV will have ARRT (CT) certification and venipuncture certification.

Requirements

  • Formal training in an accredited Radiological program with either an Associate’s degree in Radiological Sciences, or a B.A./B.S. from a four-year University
  • Ten years’ full time experience as a paid Radiological Technologist in an acute care hospital facility. Prior supervisory experience preferred

Respiratory Therapist

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • Respiratory Therapists must be Board Certified or Registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Respiratory Therapists must maintain a state license
  • Previous work experience within Indian Health Service or Veterans Administration preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist must possess at least two (2) years of recent acute care experience.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Preferably ACLS certification but not required.
  • Preferably NALS and/or PALS but not required.
  • Have over a year and half (1.5) of experience in the following areas:
    1. Pediatrics
    2. Neonatal ICU Management of Ventilators at a Level II
    3. Adult ICU Ventilator Management - Level II
    4. Level II Emergency/Trauma
    5. Arterial blood gas punctures, analyzing and interpretation
    6. Medical/Surgical care of young adults, adults and geriatric patients
    7. General floor care.
    8. Floor to floor and ground transports.
    9. Electrocardiograms
    10. Competence in respiratory medications.


Scheduling Details:

  • Work hours are in the following categories: 8, 10 and/or 12 hours shifts to provide 24 hour coverage: 0800-1630, 1900-0330, 0700-1730, 0700-1930, 1900-0730, or 1900-0530


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for monitoring all respiratory modalities of therapy.
  • Must communicate patient assessments, treatments, laboratory results and any problems directly related to the patient(s) with the attending physician and/or nursing staff. This communication will be done verbally and/or through clear, sound, readable documentation.
  • The RT shall provide care with competent knowledge in the field of Respiratory Therapy. The services are listed below but their services are not limited to this list. These services will be applied to patients of all age groups, from neonate to geriatric patients.
  • Oxygen administration using all the devices available, such as nasal cannula, simple masks, ventri-masks, partial rebreather, aerosol mask, oxyhoods, infant incubators etc.
  • Basic life support of all age specific patients.
  • Initial set-up of ventilators. Ventilator management of adult, pediatric, neonatal and geriatric patients. Ventilation of patients with known diseases such as COPD, asthma, pneumonia, Adult respiratory distress syndrome etc. Thorough documentation on the ventilator supported patients will be completed every 2 hours including the completion of the ventilator flow sheet.
  • Documentation of patient care will be done every time there is contact with the patient.
  • Assisting with intubation of patients of all ages.
  • Proper care of endotracheal tubes and trach tubes. Including the use of a cuff Monitor, NOT MLT.
  • Weaning patients from ventilators and recording such measurements.
  • Extubation of patients of all age groups.
  • Competent knowledge of Respiratory pharmacology is a requirement.
  • Nebulized treatments via small volume and large volume units. Having competent knowledge of all Respiratory medications, their positive effects, adverse affects and proper doses and mixing are a must.
  • Metered dose inhaler/spacer administration the effects of metered dosed medications,frequencies of administration and duration of medications effects.
  • IPPB treatments using medication with proper education to patients to eliminate fear.
  • BiPAP/CPAP administration and proper fit of nasal masks and full facemasks.
  • Proper suctioning technique of patients on ventilators and those patients who are not on ventilators who need nasopharnegeal/oral suctioning.
  • Comfort care provided with respect to patients who are nearing their time of death.
  • Obtain sputum samples either naturally, by induction, or suction.
  • Performs arterial punctures using proper technique and correct transporting blood products.
  • Analyzing arterial blood gases and interpretation.
  • Obtaining venous blood gases from Swan-Gang and capillary samples from neonate and Pediatric patients.
  • Complete understanding, knowledge and application of chest physiotherapy
  • Peak flow monitoring of patients.
  • Proper use of oximeter and capnograph on all age groups.
  • Performs electrocardiograms on all age groups.
  • Capable of setting-up cardio stress test patients.
  • Prepares patients for echocardiogram.
  • Maintains all respiratory equipment for future use by testing, cleaning and calibrating.
  • Adheres to JCAHO and CLIA standards in care of patients, equipment and blood gas laboratory.
  • Clearly educates and instructs patients/family followed by documentation of contact.
  • The Respiratory Therapist must be knowledgeable and capable of performing in trauma situations, life and death situations, critically ill, high risk patients and disasters.
  • NNMC utilizes handwritten charting for documentation. The RT must abide to all JCAHO standards and the policy and procedure for full assessments. Monitoring affects of a patients response to care given, all pertinent information pertaining to the care of the patient and any contact will be documented.
  • Therapist is required to fulfill all physicians documented orders for patients who fall under the care of Respiratory Therapy, unless, the order could cause harm to the patient. Failure to do so will result in a written complaint to the contracting company and the acquisition office of NNMC.
  • The Respiratory Therapist must be capable of performing Respiratory duties in an in-patient and out-patient setting.

  • All examinations are performed independently which include: screening and diagnostic mammograms, magnification and spot views, and biopsy procedures.
  • Receives request, interprets request and/or instructions.
  • Knowledge and experience with positioning, physics, radiation safety, equipment, and techniques. Knowledge and experience with anatomy and physiology, medical ethics, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge and experience with GE Senographe Essential line of mammogram equipment.
  • AOP Mode and SNR checks, repeat analysis, compression force test, printer film testing, and a repeat analysis of less than or equal to 2%.
  • The incumbent shall be capable of demonstrating sensitivity to a cross-cultural and language differences and the ability to work through interpreters for non-English speaking patients.
  • Should have extensive knowledge and experience with RPMS and Women’s health package.
  • Must have been personally involved (as a lead tech) in tracking of patient outcomes, BI-RADS, follow-up and scheduling of those patients, and responsible for the maintenance of those records, as well as being participating in the review required during at least two FDA inspections and two ACR inspections and program reviews, for which the program passed with minimal to zero deficiencies.
  • Ability to document employee and radiologist workload productivity. Ability to work with EHR, PACS(VistaRad), Digital workstations. Ability and experience to perform quality diagnostic exams as well as needle localization exams.

X-Ray Technologist

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • Individual must be ARRT certified and meet the continuing education requirement set by the ARRT.
  • Individual must also have a Nebraska License (license from another state is acceptable).
  • Must have at least 6 months of experience in performing diagnostic Radiologic Examinations.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification is required.


Scheduling Details:

  • Clinic Hours are: 8am - 4:30pm M-F
  • Schedule will be from week to week and is assigned as needed by the supervisor and take callbacks that includes after hours, weekends and holidays: however the technologist may be asked to rotate through the schedule in time of staff shortage. On call means that the tech will be expected to come in person to the x-ray department and perform x-rays for patients in ER or MS unit.


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • This position serves as an X-ray Technologist and is responsible for performing standard I complex radiologic examinations and performing on call services.
  • Performs examinations and procedures, which are used in Medical diagnosis utilizing both stationary and mobile equipment.
  • Operates the equipment in the radiology department and at patient's bedsides.
  • Knowledge and skill to operate CR (Computed Radiography) and to provide basis for a wide variety of specialized medical diagnosis.
  • The knowledge and skill may have been obtained through formal classroom instruction.
  • Knowledge of physical diagnosis and clinical courses of disease.
  • Must be capable of recognizing quality diagnostic films and consulting with the supervisor.
  • Complete knowledge of complex instrumentation utilized to extract finest quality performance from the equipment.
  • Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary and to develop new and better techniques to keep diagnostic capability ilp to date.
  • Knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques.

Providence is calling a 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) Registered Vascular Technologist/Sonographer to work on the day shift (8 hour shifts) for the Diagnostic Imaging Services Department at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK.

The Vascular/Songrapher performs and evaluates sonographic examinations and physiologic vascular testing. Obtains clinical history and performs a physical assessment of the patient's condition to determine appropriate testing protocol. Provides a technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis in accordance with Providence philosophy, objectives, policies, procedures and standard.

In this position, you will:
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Follow prescribed sonographic protocols in performing sonographic examinations.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
• Perform the duties necessary to meet the departmental goals within established procedures and guidelines.
• Perform general office duties, schedules exams, instructs patients on preparations, files and maintains patient folders and reports as well as computer records.
• Relay preliminary findings to referral physicians, surgeons in urgent situations or upon request.
• Responsible for accurately completing daily records including QA and QI information necessary to meet accreditation standards.
• Responsible for maintenance of Digital database, copies and report dissemination.
• Responsible for calibrating, maintaining and basic troubleshooting of sonographic equipment.

Required qualifications for this position include:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a recognized school of Diagnostic Sonography.
• Must be ARDMS and RVT registered.
• Certification in Abdomen, and OB required.
• Certification in Vascular Technology required.
• BLS or the ability to obtain certification within ninety (90) days of date of hire required.
• Five (5) years minimum in Sonography, and one (1) year Vascular Technology required.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
• Breast Certification is preferred.

In this role, the Lead Tech will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Radiology manager with the day-to-day functions and operations of the radiology department
  • Staff scheduling, payroll etc.
  • Oversight and management of the daily the work flow to include problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Hiring, training, development, and performance management of staff

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • Experience in CT working in a hospital environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a lead or supervisory role
  • CT certifications to include: CRT, Venipuncture, BLS, Fluoro, ARRT certifications in CT
  • MRI certification and plus but not required

Mammography Tech Part Time

The mammography tech will be responsible for performing mammography procedures as ordered by the physician. This position will work 3 days per week (you will have the opportunity to determine a set schedule of ongoing available days), servicing two locations. Applicant must be a graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program and be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Two years experience preferred.

Radiology Management
Full-Time - M-F 24 HR ACCOUNTABLE

Responsible for the overall operation and direction of Diagnostic Services and other identified departments. Development of processes to promote quality of service, budgetary compliance and identification of departmental direction and expectation are key elements of the role. Monitors departmental operation to assure compliance with government regulations and standards established by accrediting agencies. Determines the scope of service level expectations and ensures service is provided to meet the needs of patients and physicians. Directs and leads staff to achieve departmental goals. A high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration is equally essential for successful functioning. Identifies and remedies patient care issues by placing a strong emphasis on high quality safe patient care and excellent customer satisfaction. Oversees the department’s performance improvement measures and controls using data collection and analysis for process improvement.

Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility to include theory, practice and administration in order to direct planning and implementation of operations. Ability to prepare reports, policies and budgets at a level normally acquired through completion of a Masters degree in a relevant field required. Requires approximately five to seven years progressively more responsible related work experience, three to five in a management role required. Demonstrated experience in project management, the development and review of policies, team development, successful budget oversight, physician relations and multi-site responsibilities necessary. Requires analytical skills necessary to organize and oversee work of subordinates. Excellent communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills necessary. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, staff development, coding / auditing, billing and PACS preferred.

Qualified candidates must have:
