Radiology Management
Full-Time - M-F 24 HR ACCOUNTABLE
Responsible for the overall operation and direction of Diagnostic Services and other identified departments. Development of processes to promote quality of service, budgetary compliance and identification of departmental direction and expectation are key elements of the role. Monitors departmental operation to assure compliance with government regulations and standards established by accrediting agencies. Determines the scope of service level expectations and ensures service is provided to meet the needs of patients and physicians. Directs and leads staff to achieve departmental goals. A high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration is equally essential for successful functioning. Identifies and remedies patient care issues by placing a strong emphasis on high quality safe patient care and excellent customer satisfaction. Oversees the department’s performance improvement measures and controls using data collection and analysis for process improvement.
Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility to include theory, practice and administration in order to direct planning and implementation of operations. Ability to prepare reports, policies and budgets at a level normally acquired through completion of a Masters degree in a relevant field required. Requires approximately five to seven years progressively more responsible related work experience, three to five in a management role required. Demonstrated experience in project management, the development and review of policies, team development, successful budget oversight, physician relations and multi-site responsibilities necessary. Requires analytical skills necessary to organize and oversee work of subordinates. Excellent communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills necessary. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, staff development, coding / auditing, billing and PACS preferred.

Museums and historic homes in Norfolk reflect the city's 300-year history as an important seaport and region of commerce.
The Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay provide the boundaries for the Norfolk/Virginia Beach Community. The opportunities for swimming, diving, fishing and boating abound on the region's many rivers and lakes, as well as along miles of public beaches. Some of the best sport fishing in the country can be found here and on North Carolina's Outer Banks, which are within a two-hour's drive.
For other outdoor entertainment, there is camping, biking and hiking at Virginia Beach's Seashore State park; exploring the Great Dismal Swamp national wildlife preserve just south of Norfolk; and Busch Gardens near Williamsburg is one of the country's most popular amusement parks.
The region's temperate climate is ideal for sports and outdoor activities. Winters are mild. The spring and fall seasons are extremely pleasant. Summer temperatures are usually in the upper 80s. For snow skiing and mountain trail hiking, the foothills of Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains are within a few hours' drive.
