The Medical Services Support in Iraq (MSSI) Program Manager establishes a clinically safe and professionally managed healthcare environment and provides primary health care as well as resuscitative surgical care in accordance with U.S. or equivalent medical standards on a 24-hour basis, 365 days of the year to Chief of Mission (COM) personnel U.S. Embassy Baghdad, serving a population of approximately 14,000 adults.

This position is notional and will be filled upon future openings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography and ultrasound. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position; adjustment equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
  • Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs or other media by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains radiology supplies and inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Required Skills

SCOPE:

The Radiology Technician reports to and will be supervised by the site medical director or other primary medical provider (Radiologist, Physicians, Surgeons, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants) on the work site.

The Radiology Technician will be assigned to treat patients in one of two settings: (1) Small medical/trauma hospitals, (2) Large medical/trauma hospital and assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

In these settings, Radiology Technician performs diagnostic imaging examinations like x-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. In addition, Radiology Technician prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position; adjustment equipment controls to set exposure factors. Radiology technicians must follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their co-workers from unnecessary exposure.

In addition to preparing patients and operating equipment, radiology technicians keep patient records and adjust and maintain equipment. They also may prepare work schedules, evaluate purchases of equipment, or manage a radiology department.

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
  • Maintains the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Associations Bill of Rights for patients.

Required Experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have completed an approved Radiology Technician program leading to a Diploma, Certificate or Associate’s degree.
  • Must have an unrestricted state license or be American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified.
  • A minimum of 5-years experience as a Radiology Technician including 1 year with ultrasound in a clinical setting is required.
  • All healthcare providers must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 6 of the last 12 months in desired career field.
  • U.S. Military Radiology Technician technical school training certification (4R0X1, 68P, HM-8451) will also fulfill this requirement.
  • Must be experienced in performing CT procedures, including contrast exams.
  • Must have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Shall be licensed in the United States
  • Must complete a Foreign Affairs Counter Terrorism training course prior to deployment to Iraq for work on the MSSI contract. Training will include: Combat First Aid, Weapons Familiarization, Defensive Tactics/Driving, IED recognition, Surveillance Detection and Hostage Survival and Personnel Recovery
  • Participate in training, (including HIPAA training) that may be required by DoS or CHS prior to deployment to Iraq.
  • The Medical Services Support in Iraq (MSSI) Program Manager establishes a clinically safe and professionally managed healthcare environment and provides primary health care as well as resuscitative surgical care in accordance with U.S. or equivalent medical standards on a 24-hour basis, 365 days of the year to Chief of Mission (COM) personnel U.S. Embassy Baghdad, serving a population of approximately 14,000 adults.

  • Radiology Technician will require a favorably adjudicated Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) investigation conducted by the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
  • Radiology Technician will sign a CHS MSSI Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
  • The normal workweek is established by the DoS Chief of Mission.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance with DOS requirements for service in Iraq.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Iraq is required by surface or air.
  • The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.

Job Details:

Performs and oversees routine and emergency interventional and radiologic procedures on a daily basis. Is the site liaison between Interventional Radiology and other departments. Individual must be capable of working independently, unsupervised and in a fast paced setting. Must possess good communication skills and be able to teach, direct, correct and inspire employees. This position requires a wide range of technical knowledge in Interventional Radiology. Average workday will consist of at least 85% performing clinical procedures and up to 15% performing administrative functions as needed. This position includes call and multi-site responsibilities.

Minimum of 2 years Interventional Radiology experience. Associates degree and/or graduate of Accredited Radiologic Technology Program. Current Massachusetts state license. We are currently looking for a CT /X-RayTech for a hospital client of ours in Oakland, CA.

This is a full time 13 week contact assignment. Shift times may vary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Explain procedures to patient, & is sensitive to patient's anxiety about procedure.
  • Reviews patient's medical history prior to performing CT procedure & confirms that patient has signed a contrast media consent form.
  • Positions patient on examination table & monitors patient's condition during examination.
  • Introduces intravenous contrast material as directed by radiologist.
  • Controls & adjusts CT equipment to assure that images meet requirements.
  • Maintains equipment & examination room, stores film, & keeps inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepares patient information files showing patient's name, date of CT examination, referring physician, & nature of examination.
  • Prepares & submits reports showing the number & type of examinations.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Min of 3 years of experience as a CT Technologist in an acute care setting
  • Comfortable in working in a busy hospital setting that supports inpatients, and emergency.
  • Must be able to do X-Ray as well.
  • ARRT in CT, CRT, Fluoroscopy, Venipuncture and BLS required.

The Float Sonographer performs a variety of ultrasound procedures in a reasonable time frame utilizing various transducers and pulsed echo imaging equipment at our outpatient clinics. The float role is a full-time, benefit eligible position that floats to one of eight Invision Sally Jobe clinics in the Denver Metro area to perform various ultrasound exams.

Responsible for providing general ultrasound, ultrasound breast procedures, and vascular ultrasound exams using independent judgement to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and exceptional patient care. Demonstrates the cross section anatomy of normal/abnormal pathology demonstrated to provide for the diagnosis for the radiologist reading exams. Requires RDMS and graduation from an accredited ultrasound program.

A combination of at least two registries of Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular and/or Breast is required. 3 or 4 registries is preferred. BLS certificaiton is required.

Must have exceptional patient care skills.

We currently have a full-time opportunity available for a Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Services to direct the Radiology and Ultrasound Units at Natividad Medical Center. Responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing the operations and staff of the units, along with meeting quality assurance, safety and accreditation requirements.

Requires a CA Radiologic Technologist license (or temporary permit) and possession of a CA Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy permit. Must have thorough knowledge of current radiologic techniques, methods and apparatus; operation of and care for radiographic equipment; principles of PACS, CR and DR Imagery; basic hospital and nursing care procedures; and structural and organic anatomy. Strong management, communication, interpersonal, organizational and motivational skills are essential.

Job Description

The Medical Services Support in Iraq (MSSI) Program Manager establishes a clinically safe and professionally managed healthcare environment and provides primary health care as well as resuscitative surgical care in accordance with U.S. or equivalent medical standards on a 24-hour basis, 365 days of the year to Chief of Mission (COM) personnel U.S. Embassy Baghdad, serving a population of approximately 14,000 adults.

SCOPE:

The Medical Technologist reports to and will be clinically supervised by the site medical director and work under the direction of other primary medical provider (Radiologist, Physicians, Surgeons, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants).The Medical Technologist will be assigned to treat patients in one of two settings: (1) Small medical/trauma hospitals, (2) Large medical/trauma hospital and assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.In these settings, Medical Technologist performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologicaltests.Examines and analyzes body fluids and cells and matches blood for transfusions.In addition to performing their technical function, medical technicians keep patient records and adjust and maintain equipment. They also may prepare work schedules, evaluate purchases of equipment, or manage a medical technical department.All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have completed a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a diploma, certificate or a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be eligible or certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • Must have and maintain current certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • A minimum of two years experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
  • All healthcare providers must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 6 of the last 12 months in desired career field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
  • Examines and analyzes body fluids and cells and matches blood for transfusions.
  • Must be familiar with the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) requirements for maintaining blood products for transfusion.
  • Analyzes chemical content of fluids and tests for drug levels in the blood.
  • Prepares specimens, counts cells, and looks for abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.
  • Analyzes test results and relays them to physicians.
  • Makes cultures of body fluid and tissue samples, to determine the presence of bacteria, fungi, parasites, or other microorganisms.
  • Analyzes samples for chemical content or a chemical reaction and determines concentrations of compounds such as blood glucose and cholesterol levels.
  • Evaluates test results, develops and modifies procedures, and establishes and monitors programs, to ensure the accuracy of tests.
  • Uses universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.
  • Orders and stocks supplies as needed and maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • In addition to preparing patients and operating equipment, radiologic technologists and technicians keep patient records and adjust and maintain equipment. They also may prepare work schedules, evaluate purchases of equipment, or manage a radiology department.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Will require a favorably adjudicated Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) investigation conducted by the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security;
  • All Medical Technologists will sign a CHS MSSI Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
  • The normal workweek is established by the DoS Chief of Mission.

The following requirements apply to Medical Technologists:

  • Shall be licensed in the United States
  • Participate in training, (including HIPAA training) that may be required by DOS or CHS prior to deployment to Iraq.
  • Shall understand and practice the precepts of the American Hospital Associations Bill of Rights for patients.
  • Must complete a Foreign Affairs Counter Terrorism training course prior to deployment to Iraq for work on the MSSI contract. Training will include: Combat First Aid, Weapons Familiarization, Defensive Tactics/Driving, IED recognition, Surveillance Detection and Hostage Survival and Personnel Recovery
  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License
  • Must have a current U.S. Passport
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the CHS Medical Management System software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance with DOS requirements for service in Iraq.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Iraq is required by surface or air.
  • The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
